Nevada Health Centers operates 21 medical and dental sites including a Health Care for the Homeless Program, a School Based Health Program and an OB/GYN Center. In addition we operate three Miles for Smiles Buses, the Mammovan, two WIC sites and a Community Health Pharmacy.
Eureka Community Health Center,
located in Eureka County, opened its doors to serve the
community with quality health care in 1987.
Through the 1870’s and 1880’s, which were then
the peak years, the hills south and west of Eureka produced
approximately $122 million dollars in lead and silver. The railroad
came to the area in 1875, which then, Eureka became the hub for
wagon and stage transportation to most mining camps in eastern Nevada.
Eureka supported over 100 saloons, a few dozen gambling
palaces, many theaters, competing newspapers, luxurious hotels,
churches, boarding houses, stores and restaurants, opera houses, five
fire companies, brass bands and two militia units. Eureka,
today, remains a fine old town, unruined by commercialism. The many
historical buildings, appealing scenery and the people, make it a
pleasant place to live. Eureka is one of the friendliest towns
